The weather is warming up and it’s time for some Spring Cleaning! At Data Recycling New England we’re happy to host Electronic Waste Fundraisers at your location of choice, which not only help your organization raise funds, but also help the environment!
By hosting an Electronic Waste Fundraiser members of your community are given the opportunity to bring their electronic waste to be recycled properly. This will keep those items from being disposed of improperly and ending up and landfills and allow us to fix them up for resale, which will keep them out of the state’s disposal centers.
Here’s how it works: We have a minimum cost per television and monitor that needs to be met, but since your organization is setting the fee, any funds collected above our minimum are yours to keep! For other types of items (computer towers, refrigerators, etc.) you can set any price you wish and keep 100% of those fees. We do have a minimum $250 fee that we collect that covers our transportation and labor costs but once your organization has collected $250 you keep the remaining funds (except for our minimums for televisions and monitors).
Some of the items that can be recycled are:
- Televisions
- Computer Monitors
- Computer Towers/Laptops
- Stoves
- Refrigerators
- Air Conditioners
- Microwaves
Here are our current rates for televisions and monitors:
- TV – Under 27 inches: $15
- TV – Over 27 inches: $23
- Console or Wood TV: $30
- Projection TVs: $30
- CRT Monitors: $15
- LCD Monitors: FREE
When it comes to collecting the televisions and monitors, we always recommend that you set the fee a little higher than our minimum, so that your organization can keep the excess. So, for example, since we charge $17 for a television under 27” we recommend that you charge a $20 recycling fee.
